I started working with creators in 2017. 

In 2018 I cofounded a company to connect creators with brands. In 4 years we helped influencers earn over $1.5 million from brand campaigns. 

I no longer run the company today day to day but I still work with creators.

However, today the definition of who a creator is has become broader.

While a “creator” used to mean “a social media influencer” a few years ago, today a creator is anyone who:

(1) is an expert with great knowledge in a specific area

(2) creates and shares content, especially online 

(3) is building an audience or a tribe, especially online

So a creator can be a working professional, a business owner, a social media influencer, a teacher, a college professor, etc.

If you’re an expert in any area: you have a skill that solves a problem and leads to a transformation of some kind, you are a creator.

If you create content to share that knowledge or expertise, you’re a creator. 

If you’re building an audience, your own little tribe, you’re a creator.

But how do you make money as a creator?

Creators can not rely only on brand campaigns to make money if they want to make a lot of money and be financially free. 

There are many ways creators can make money but I’ve found these five as the best ways to do so. I call them the 4C1D framework.

- 4Cs: Community, Courses, Consulting, and Coaching

- 1D: Digital products e.g. ebooks, templates, etc.

I’ll be breaking this framework down in a new online community I’ve just started.
